A UK only
compilation released through Transcopic
Records as a taster of past You Am
I albums. The majority of tracks featured are taken
from Hi Fi Way, Hourly
Daily and #4 Record, but
also includes Get Up from Dress
Me Slowly, Berlin Chair
(live performance taken from the Saturday
Night Round Ten album) and Cool Hand Luke (a live favourite
from the 1993 Coprolalia EP).
Due to strict licensing laws, the album will only be available
through UK outlets and not available through mail order
internet websites such as Amazon.
Sorry kids!
From an interview with Tim in Rip
It Up Magazine:
"It’s more a retrospective
than a 'best of' album," Tim declared. "It’s
going to be a compilation of our first five albums and it’ll
have album tracks rather than just a bunch of singles. It’ll
also give us an opportunity to add a few new songs because
I don’t think anyone would be willing to put up the
money to put out a brand new You Am I record at the moment.
It’ll also put a nice little full stop on that era
of the band."
From the Transcopic
Records website:
"The tunes on No Sir...
include a few singles but mostly a dartboard selction of
our first four rekurds, a cracker from our fifth and an
earlier one from our respectfully deleted ep's... we couldn't
nut it out ourselves
so we left a lot for Transcopic
to decide. Typical You Am I...
Important decisions??? Who's round???
We left out stuff from our new LP Deliverance, the triple
gatefold LP of covers, poncey solo reckurds, my NRBQ tribute
band TRBQ, Rusty and Andy's Krautrock landmark, Davey's
The Bitches... that's all out there somewhere. But as we're
knocking up our seventh rekurd this is a taster of what
we up to for the first bunch".
